Join our community of practice to collaborate, connect and learn. Discover institutional publishers coming together to build a collective voice that amplifies the institutional publishing perspective in open scholarship and gives weight to discussions across the sector, including with funders, sector-wide organisations and other publishing groups.

Become a member

OIPA encourages membership from a diverse range of UK-based university presses, institutionally-affiliated publishing operations and related organisations which meet the following criteria:

• Not-for-profit university presses or library publishers born or striving for open access
• Other higher education libraries and departments that engage in publishing activities, e.g., those providing platform hosting and other forms of support
• Not-for-profit UK academic institutions looking to establish new publishing activities
• Not-for-profit constructive partners in the open publishing environment

New applicants will be invited to discuss their application by the Chair and a member of the Association to ensure that they fall within the membership criteria. If the Chair and Association member are satisfied, the Association will ratify membership, or raise any concerns, either by email or at the next Association meeting.
