Webinar: Good Metadata Practice for Open Access Books – hosted by OIPA/ OABN
This webinar was jointly organised by the Open Access Books Network (OABN) and the Open Institutional Publishing Association (OIPA), and focuses on ‘good metadata practice’ for open access books. Metadata is a crucial aspect of the publishing process for open access books for both publishers and librarians, but misunderstandings and confusion about ‘best practice’ persist, particularly for those unfamiliar with creating and managing metadata and technical standards. We hope this webinar will offer attendees practical guidance and a forum for asking questions and sharing good metadata practice for open access books.
The webinar is chaired by Lucy Barnes (Senior Editor and Outreach Coordinator at Open Book Publishers, representing the OABN), and features the following speakers:
Tobias Steiner (COO) and Hannah Hillen (Metadata & Publisher Outreach Specialist) – Thoth Open Metadata; Graham Bell – Executive Director, EDItEUR; Jeffrey Edmunds – Digital Access Coordinator, Penn State Libraries.
